PSP WaterJet Specialise in the Water Jet Cutting

WaterJet Technology

What is WaterJet cutting?

Water jet cutting technology is the real alternative to laser cutting, plasma cutting, milling and conventional machining.

The shape to be cut is entered into a computer and high tech machines fire powerful jets of water into materials to cut or engrave them to that exact shape.

Water jet cutting is used to create everything from tiny components for airplanes to sections of racing yachts.

Why use WaterJet cutting?

Unlike laser cutting, water jets can cut any material in the world, other than toughened glass. Among the materials PSP WaterJet regularly cuts are:

  • Aluminium
  • Stainless steel
  • Copper
  • Brass
  • Titanium
  • Hardox
  • Tantalum
  • Plastics
  • Composites
  • Carbon fibre
  • Rubber
  • Wood

WaterJet cutting can be more precise than traditional methods and PSP WaterJet’s specialist machinery can cut with a completely square edge, negating the costly need to recut items. Unlike laser cutting, water jet cutting does not produce heat so no scorches or mechanical stresses are left on a water jet cut surface.

No noxious gases or liquids are used in water jet cutting, and water jets do not create hazardous materials or vapours.
